What is the BSM?
The BSM is a student organization on the campus of Midwestern State. We meet and operate out of our building on Taft (across the street from Hardin Administration building).
Our desire is to see students grow in their relationship with Christ. We believe one of the best ways to see that happen is to move students into small groups and then mobilize them into missions.
The BSM provides opportunities for spiritual growth, leadership, connecting with fellow college students, missions, and service. There is a place for you to connect and serve!
Do I have to be Baptist?
Nope. In fact, lots of us, including some of our leaders, are not Baptist. The name “Baptist” simply indicates something about our heritage and the way our ministry gets financial support. So come on by the BSM, everyone is welcome!
Are you a church?
No. We're the college ministry for dozens of churches in the area. We encourage all of our students to be actively involved in a local church. Our supporting organizations are: BGCT and WAC Baptist Association.
How do I join?
Just jump right in! We don't have a membership. Anybody is welcome to come to our lunches, Refuel, or other events.
How can I get more involved?
There are plenty of ways to get involved. Just about everything at BSM is done by students who volunteer their time, and we can always use more help! Join a small group; get involved in a ministry; help with our Conversation Cafe for international students; go with us on our Christmas and Spring Break mission projects, apply for summer missions; apply to join the Leadership Team. There are lots of opportunities.
One of the best ways to start serving immediately is to join one of our four Ministry Teams. These teams (International Ministry, Refuel, Wednesday Lunch, and Mission Fundraising) help lead critical aspects of the our ministry. They meet every other week. Contact us for more info.
